Originally from Vietnam as a refugee from the Vietnam war is where DQ’s journey began in the United States. Artistically he has been drawing since a child and became more serious when he developed styles from drawing comic book characters. After attending Virginia Commonwealth University with a BFA in painting and printmaking, DQ began seriously studying, having art sold, and displayed. However, due to hardships from incarceration, homelessness, and having all his work lost or stolen, he no longer was able to paint. However, decades later; for the past 3 years, he has continued his passion. He has had works sold and displayed in galleries around the world. And when it comes to painting, he has never lost the magic and is trying to make the shift into a full-time artist.
